Public Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Andy Buckley.
This is a circular walk starting from Styal railway staion and soon we are entering the grounds of Quarry Bank Mill passing the mill itself before heading off into the woodlans of Styal Country park following the meandering paths through the woods and following the banks of the river Bollin, through the woodland the paths have short steep sections in places and with it following the path of the river it could be muddy in places. On leaving the beautiful woodland of Styal Country park we head up a path that will give you a vista of a place where holiday dreams begin (something we could all do with thinking about in the usual dark month of February!) and we follow the gravel track where it eventually lead to the road to take us to the village of Styal with its lovely pub called The Ship.
