Just one stop after the Greater Manchester Border puts us in Ashley, a quaint village in rural Cheshire. A gentle, circular stroll, takes us on quiet paths and bridleways over the Cheshire Plain. The ideal evening escape after the 9 to 5 routine...with easy connections via Metrolink.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

18:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 18:17. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Ashley £5.40 or Northern Duo £8.10. If people are joining the same train at Stockport or Altrincham, the cheapest ticket is an evening return from there.

18:17: Train departs for the walk start at Ashley Train Station.

18:55: Walk starts at Ashley Train Station.

Return from Ashley Train Station. 20:56 or 21:56

Waypoints: Ashley Hall, Coppice Farm, Ryecroft Farm and Birkin Farm

Extra :

Train also calls at: Stockport (18:30) Navigation Road (18:44) Altrincham (18:46) and Hale (18:49). No toilets on station - please use the one on the train.
