Public Transport based walk with Aidan McGrath.
This linear walk starts at Mossley Station, from there we head east and join the Huddersfield Narrow Canal for a short section through Micklehurst to the Tameside Trail. The trail takes us through Carrbrook and onto Slatepit Moor where we ascend up to the Swineshaw Reservoirs. The walk then joins the Pennine Bridleway and onto Arnfield. We then head east onto Tintwistle Low Moor and Tintwistle Knarr and onto the woods at Didsbury Intake. The walk then descends through the woods towards Valehouse Reservoir and onto Tintwistle where there is an option for a pint stop at the Bulls Head pub. We then walk the last section of the route onto the end at Hadfield Station.
P.S. Robust walking footwear and gaiters are a must as this walk is very muddy and tricky underfoot at times.
