Direct Transport based walk with Katherine Hamlett.
*Switched from the 15th April Due to Rail Strike*
Believed to be named after the druid Simon Magus, Simon's Seat is a fabulous vantage point from which to take in the expansive views north of Bolton Abbey.
This varied route offers waterways, woodland and waterfalls, together with open moorland, the wonderful abbey ruins (which you'll have time to explore) and the fantastically named Valley of Desolation. The ascent is gradual with generally good terrain underfoot on riverside and open access footpaths.
We will aim to have lunch at the top of the climb and will be heading to The Swan in Addingham after the walk (thoroughly recommended!) The pub is a 7 minute drive from the main car park and easily accessible on the drive back to Manchester. Car parking at the pub is available.
We will also be staying for food at the pub and you are more than welcome to join us. For further info on the pub, check out their website below:
