Moors around Hayfield

Public Transport based walk with Jonny Franklin.

There is a climb up chinley Churn to begin with a descent down to Peep O Day and into Hayfield; there is another climb up Middle Moor and down to Little Hayfield with another ascent up Lantern Pike; where the lunch stop is. The walk continues through fields and farms to Rowarth and down into the Sett Valley at Thornsett with a rise up onto the moors before leading down Shedyard Clough onto a lane into Furness Vale. Could be muddy please bring appropriate gear. There will be plenty of rest stops too. Pub stop at end

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

09:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 09:49. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
