Direct Transport based walk suitable for new walkers, with Andy Barclay.
**Joint walk, hosted by Manchester Weekend Walkers**
This is intended to be an easy short Boxing Day walk. The route will be flexible depending on the weather and the mood of the party but the plan is to see a little of the developments that have been going on around the Manchester-Salford border and to get some fresh air down at the Quays. When travelling to the start please note that there are no trains running on Boxing Day but the trams and some buses will be running (you will need to check your own travel details). The walk will start and finish in the City Centre and if there is a pub open we will then pop in to it.
No public toilets on the route but some may be available in the outlet mall at Salford Quays half way round. Route will be on footpaths, riverside paths and canal towpaths so there may be the odd puddle but it is not expected to be very muddy. Dress appropriately for cold or wet weather as necessary. You may want to bring a snack/drink/flask but if it's cold we won't be having a formal lunch stop.
