Part one of a two part walk.

A linear walk starting from Disley passing through Lyme Park visiting The Cage, where if the weather is decent you get an excellent all round views, we will continue pass Lyme Hall onto The Gritstone Trail heading out onto Park Moor and The Bowstonegate before heading over towards Toddbrook Reservoir then into Whaley Bridge for a pub stop.

Meet & Travel arrangements - Public Transport

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.
Itinerary is below - click station links for map and further information.

10:30: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 10:49. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.

Suggested ticket:

Return to Whaley Bridge (£7.90)

10:49: Train departs for the walk start at Disley Station.

11:20: Walk starts at Disley Station.

Return from Whaley Bridge Station. 1440 and then every hour

Waypoints: The Cage, Lyme Park, Bowstonegate, Whaley Moor, Toddbrook Reservoir

Important :

This is the first part of a two part walk, the second part is a circular walk from Whaley Bridge. If you attend to take part in the second walk please bring a torch with you.
