Public Transport based walk with Stu Edwards.
Walk leader joining train at Romiley
Climbing out of Strines station we immediately make the most of the spectacular views across to Whaley Moor. Good paths and gradual ascents take us to the vantage point of Mellor Cross with, weather permitting, a fantastic aspect of the surrounding countryside. We continue on the high ground until lunch with a view before working our way through rural villages enroute to a stunning aqueduct. From here it's a short section along the canal back to your choice of Platform One... the train or the pub!
