Car based walk with Mark Roper.
Starting in the Village of 'Foulridge' we head to 'Lake Burwain', around the lakeside path to the sailing club. Past the ford at 'shirt Neck Harry'. We then head up to Alkincoates Woodland Nature Reserve, then back down to the entrance of the 'Mile tunnel' on the Leeds/Liverpool canal. From there we go up to 'Slipper hill reservoir'. We then drop down to 'County Brook Mill' where we join the Leeds/Liverpool canal. Following the tow path until we get to the village of 'Salterforth'.
Here we will visit the cellar of The Anchor Inn where there are stalactites and stalagmites formed by water dripping through the limestone floor.(note- A small donation to there chosen charity is required). We will have time for a quick pint before heading back to Foulridge through fields, canal tow path and part of the disused Colne to Skipton railway.
At the end of the walk refreshment will be available from Cafe Cargo http://www.cafecargo.com/
