Public Transport based walk with Kate Atty.
A varied walk in West Lancashire. From Appley Bridge, we'll walk along the Leeds & Liverpool canal for a couple of miles before passing through the lovely village of Parbold where we'll see the first of two windmills of the day. We'll then head up Harrock Hill where there are fine views of Winter Hill and the surrounding countryside. Just after our ascent, we'll make a slight detour to take in our second windmill of the day then descend down into the woodland and waterfalls of Fairy Glen before returning back to Appley Bridge train station. There should be ample time to enjoy a drink at The Boathouse overlooking the canal before heading home.
