Public Transport based walk with Aidan McGrath.
Linear walk from Smithy Bridge Station to Littleborough Station. Upon leaving the station we head east towards Hollingworth Lake, we skirt around part of the lake and then onto to Pennine Bridleway and up to Dick Hill. The route then heads east over Windy Hill and across the M62 at Rook Stones Hill. We then walk to Blackstone Edge and Aiggin Stone then follow the old Roman road back down into civilisation in Littleborough via a section of the Rochdale Canal.

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

08:45: Meet at Manchester Victoria for the train at 08:53. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
08:53: Train departs for the walk start at Smithy Bridge Train Station.
09:25: Walk starts at Smithy Bridge Train Station.
Return from Littleborough train Station.
