Join us for a wander out of Glossop towards Bleaklow to see there is more to walking the dark peatlands of Bleaklow than mile upon mile of seemingly endless bog.

We’ll use public transport from Manchester to travel to and return from the walk start/end.

10:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly for the train at 10:18. You will need to purchase a ticket prior to meeting.
Off peak day return: £3.90.
10:18: Train departs for the walk start at Glossop Station.
10:50: Walk starts at Glossop Station.
Return from Glossop Station. xx:09; xx:39
Waypoints: Glossop Station, Manor park, Old Glossop, Shittern Clough, Yellow Slacks, Dog Rock, Hern Stones, Higher Shelf Stones, Lower Shelf Stones, Jamie's Thorn, Little Clough, Doctor's Gate track, Mossy Lea F
This walk does have a few steep ups and downs, but the going is generally pretty easy and the pace won't be too quick.
Gaiters shouldn't be necessary, but you never know! Sunscreen will hopefully be mandatory!
Toilet stop 10 minutes after leaving the station in Manor Park.
Ghost warning: many sightings of the ghosts of US Servicemen around the plane wrecks near the Shelf Stones!
Pub stop at the end: The Queens in Old Glossop by the top of Manor Park. 15 minutes from the station.
