NOVEMBER
Saturday 22nd: Edale Kinder Circular
Train-based walk 3 Boots 11 miles 400m climb Leader: Adrian Radcliffe
Description: A tough walk over the peaty core of Kinder Scout and then back
on the familiar territory of the Pennine Way.
Meet Point: Piccadilly Railway Station for train at 09:47.
Suggested Ticket: Day Return £8.50, or buy in advance a Wayfarer (£9.20) if
your journey into town is more than £0.70.
Walk Start: Edale Train Station at 10:30.
Waypoints: Grindsbrook Clough, Kinder Scout, Kinder Gates, Kinder Low and
Jacobs Ladder then the Nags Head.
Return Services: xx:47, until 19:46, 21:08, 22:56.

Saturday 29th: Chinley Circular via Chapel-en-le-Frith
Train-based walk 2 Boots 11 miles ?m climb Leader: Max Townsend
Description: The walk's title says it all, a circular walk with a couple of steep climbs.
Meet Point: Piccadilly Station for train at 09:46.
Suggested Ticket: Day Return to Chinley £7.50
Walk Start: Chinley station at 10:25.
Waypoints: Breckend, Slackhall, Bagshaw & Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Return Services: xx:55
Extra: A pay toilet & shop at walk start; pub stops in Chapel-en-le-Frithand Chinley at walk end.
Sunday 30th: Trefriw, Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Cranfnant (plus a harder option)
Car-based walk 2 Boots 8 miles 400m climb / 3.5 Boots 10 miles 900m climb Leader: Pete Dolan (p.dolan@me.com) / Richard Washington
Description: The easier option is a fairly undemanding walk through forest and around reservoirs on the eastern flanks of Carneddau through the valley of the River Conwy, taking no more than 4.5 hours. The harder complement to Pete's walk is more demanding and will take us further and higher into the Carneddau. Expect some of this walk to be across pathless mountain terrain. Bring a torch too.
Meet Point: Deansgate Locks, Whitworth
Street West, Manchester, M1 5LH at 08:30.
Suggested route: M56 / A5117 / A550 / A494 / A55 to towards Conwy, leave A55 at J19 follow signs to Llanrwst.
Walk Start: Car Park, Gower Road (not signposted) opposite Trefriw Woollen Mill at 10:30.

Waypoints: For easier route: tba. For harder route: From Trefriw, the mountain ridge to the west of Llyn Crafnant, Craig Wen (548m), Craiglwyn (623m), Creigiau Gleision (678m) & Creigiau Gleision's northtop (634m).

Saturday 13th: Eggs, Logs, and Potatoes
Train-based walk 3 Boots 12 miles 750m climb Leader: Kirsten Wolthers, boarding at Romiley
Description: A circular (and slightly undulating) walk around the foothills of New Mills. As it is the festive season, we will be visiting a few pubs en route to sample the ales and/or mulled wine – hence the early start.
Meet Point: Piccadilly station for train at 08:46
Suggested ticket: £5.10 return to New Mills Central
Walk Start: New Mills Central Station at 09:14
Waypoints: Gowhole, Shedyard Clough, Chinley Churn, Foxholes Clough, Kinder Reservoir, Park Hall, Lantern Pike, Rowarth and Broadhurst Farm.
Return services: xx:01
Extra: Please bring a torch, as the 20 min walk from the last pub to the station will be along an unlit lane.

Train-based walk 2.5 Boots 8.5 miles 300m ascent Leader: Paul Senkans
Description: Walk is moderate to slightly strenuous and definitely not for beginners.
Meet Point: Manchester Victoria station for train at 09:27.
Suggested Ticket: Day Return to Greenfield
Walk Start: Greenfield station at 10:00.
Waypoints: Greenfield station, Dovestone Reservoir (toilets), Chew Road,Chew Reservoir, Dish Stone Brow, Fox Stone, (tricky bit where the path may have eroded), Ashway Stone, Yeomen Hey Reservoir, Dovestone Reservoir (toilets again), The Clarence Pub, Greenfield station.
Return Services: xx:53 (tbc) train from Greenfield. Should be back for the 15:53.
Extra: Proper boots are essential. It will be very cold, and could snow or rain. Anyone travelling by car must be on time. Train arrives at Greenfield station at 09:50.
