Q: Do I have to
be a member to come on a walk?
A: You are welcome
to join us on a few walks while you decide if you want to join. Click here

Q: What Kit do
I need?
A: Look at
our Before Walking page - items in
red are the most important. The
equipment is about making YOU feel comfortable.
Q: How experienced
do I need to be?
A: Consult the walks
programme, ratings and before
walking pages to find walks that are suitable for you and what equipment
you need.
Q: Do I have to
come to a new members' night first?
A: No, you are welcome
to come along on a walk without coming to a new members' night first.
Q: What time do
walks finish?
A: There is no easy
answer to this question - duration depends on a wide variety of factors - length,
difficulty, weather, number in group, experience of group etc.
Q: What happens
when I reach 40?
A: As we've only
just started, we aren't totally sure yet......our friends at
Notts Derby, who have been going for five years are facing this issue,
so we'll probably copy their 'solution'....!
Q: Can I come
on a weekend away?
A: Only if you are
a paid up member of the Manchester and District 20s and 30s Walking Group (MAD Walkers),
and you have booked through the official channel. Certain walks will be advertised
as open to others - this will be clearly stated on the website.
Q: What about
socials?
A: ALL social activities,
with the exception of new members' nights are MEMBERS ONLY. Where advanced booking
is required, this should be through official channels only, as advertised.
Q: Can I lead
a walk?
A: If you are a member,
you can lead a walk - indeed we encourage you to and will give you help, guidance
and advice - talk to one of the committee for info.
Q: How can I help
the group?
A: Lead a walk, organise
a social, join the committee, distribute flyers/posters - there are lots of
way in which you can help - talk to one of the committee who'll advise you how
you can get involved!
Q: Can you send
me details of the walks?
A: If you have internet
access, this is by far the best way to access information - there is no printed
material with more information than is on this website! For details of the current
